Purple Onion Designs Sales Blog Hop

Hello!
I'm very excited about today's post because it's the start of the holiday sales at Purple Onion Designs!  All stamps are 25% off  including the stamps in the sales category from now till 8 December!

On top of the news of the sales, design team members and friends of Purple Onion Designs has come together with a surprise blog hop!  It's super exciting for me as I've never participated in a blog hop (yes yes, I'm a late bloomer! Haha!)  Oh well, there's always a first time :)

In celebration of the hop, Sandy Allnock is giving away spots in a class of their choice to 3 lucky commenters along the bloghop - so be sure to comment everywhere!  If the winner has already purchased a class during the current sale, that class fee can be refunded.  Winner will be posted on Sandy's blog on December 1, 2017.  Good luck!

Not forgetting to share a card I made with a new stamp from the new collection ~  'Twas The Night Before Christmas and another stamp from the past collection :)

If you have notice, I've omitted the frame and the glass of milk from Dear Santa and stamped it right in the centre of a die cut stock card using Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows from My Favorite Thing.  I also blended a little distress ink in dried marigold to add a little warmth to the card.  I particularly love how the sentiment turned out on the black label I cut from my Silhouette Design studio library as it gives a chalkboard effect!

I can't help but snap a picture of the cookies all stacked up :P

Would you like to win a art class?  All you need to do is follow the links to all the blogs and comment on their creations as you go :)  Let's now hop over to Hannah Rubenstahl's blog!

                 Sally On (you are here!)
I hope you like the card I shared today :)  Thank you for stopping by and have fun blog hopping!

Halloween Horrors!

Time flies and we are in the month of October!  Very soon we'll start counting down to Christmas!

What do we have in October?  Ah yes!  Halloween!  So today I'm sharing with you some treat bag toppers and tags that I've made for the Halloween treat bags.  Every year, we'll have kids from our estate knocking doors for trick or treats.  We have princesses, heroes, villains etc etc etc.. I wonder what special characters we'll see this year!

The images on the treat bag toppers and tags are:

All images are coloured using Copic markers.  I've also blended some distress inks on the tags and toppers to make them look more colourful.

For the "Boo!", treat bag topper, tags and bats,  they are all cut files from the Silhouette design studio.

And this year, I've bought some really scary candies for the kids!  I hope they are not afraid of eating them!

That's all for now!  Happy Halloween!

Party Like A Pirate

Ahoy Mate!

It's been quite some time since I made a box card and now that I'm putting up a blog post on my latest creation, I realized I've never enter a blog post on the box cards that I've made.

So I decided to share with you today a box card that I've just completed yesterday.  I managed to find the right props and took quite a number of pictures.  It's always a joy to take pictures of the box card because different angles of it will give me different views of and to get the right angle to feature the card in one picture can be a tricky task!

The box card was created using a box card cut file that I have in my Silhouette library.  Cutting the box is really a very easy and quick task with the Silhouette Cameo as all I need to do is get the right file, choose the right papers and a click of the mouse the Cameo does the job for me!

For the stamp set, I'm sure if you are a paper crafter you will be able to recognise immediately that this set of images are from My Favorite Things Party Like A Pirate stamp set!  I've always loved MFT stamp sets especially the ones by Birdie Brown!  They are just so cute and loads of fun to colour!

I stamped the images with Memento black tuxedo ink pad and I used my Brother ScanNcut cutting machine to have the images cut out.  Yes you heard me right, I've got the Brother ScanNcut too, as a birthday and mothers' day gift!

Like I said, it's hard to find a right angle to show the whole of the box card and so I took a couple of more pictures to show the different angles.

From this photo you can see there's a little wave that is right in front of the pirate ship.  That's a cut file I found in my Silhouette library and I thought it would be nice to just add it on to show that the boat is riding on the wave.. (well, kind of!)

And this picture shows you how the box card will look when it's being flatten to go into an envelope for easy mailing :)

Hope you  like the Party Like A Pirate box card that I've shared on my blog today.  There's been a few enquiries in the past from people and friends who are on my Instagram, asking if I would want to sell my box cards.  And recently I just realized I could have get the license for the box if I want to do so.  Well.. let's just see how things go, yeah? :)

Just one more day and the weekend is coming!  Stay calm and craft on!

It's A Special Day Just For You

It's A Special Day Just For You

It's a special day for Pearl!  And Smokey and Buddy is here to celebrate the special day with her!

Smokey, Buddy and Pearl are all coloured using Copic markers, whereas the background with Bunting, Tree Horizon and clouds are coloured with distress markers.  At the base of the card, I've adhered a die cut stitched cloud.

A Beautiful Day sentiment set is becoming of my favourite set of sentiments as it has all the happy wishes that I want to put on a happy card!

Just a gentle reminder that the anniversary sale at Purple Onion Designs is coming to an end soon, on 16 August, all stamps are currently on 25% off so be sure to grab them before the sale ends!

XOXO from Blueberry

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  It's a little cloudy here in Singapore, with some light showers but I like it like this, it's a little cooler (:

Sharing with you today is a shaker Valentines' card I created using a die cut and an image from Purple Onion Designs.

Stamp used: Blueberry

Blueberry is one of my favourite stamps from Purple Onion Designs!  It's such a smiley bear!  I coloured it with my copic markers and gave it the extra touch of cute blush on its cheeks.

To create this card, I used some various sizes of heart shape dies to cut 3 heart shapes on my water colour paper.  I used my WRMK fuse tool to make shaker pockets and filled them up with sequins and glittery beads and stars.  Lastly, I just aligned the shaker pockets with my water colour paper (with the hearts window).

Before I attached the shaker pockets on the card, I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges to die cut the edge, blended some cracked pistachio distress colour on the base of the card to give the card a little more details.

The die cut of XOXO is a pattern found in the Silhouette Design Store and I've cut about 5 of them and stacked them up for a more 3D effect.  If you do not have a Silhouette Cameo machine, I'm sure you can find alternative similar die cuts to replace it!

I hope you like what I've shared with you today!  Oh ~ just a gentle reminder, there's still 4 days before the anniversary sales at Purple Onion Designs ends!  All stamps are 25% off!  Don't miss it if you have been wanting to buy any of the stamps!

Happy card making!

To celebrate the start of the sale, I've created a birthday card with some of the cute critters from Stacey Yacula's collection.

Stamps used: Bobby (striped shirt beaver), Elm (puppy) and Wagon.

For this card, I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a star banner template and I blended some distress inks for the base card for the contrast look with the template.  All the cute little critters are coloured with Copic markers.

These little critters stamps are just sooo cute and versatile that they can be used for many occasions!  Be sure to check out Purple Onion Designs blog for more inspiration from the design team with many beautiful creations!  Sale ends on 16 August!

Last Day

Today will be the last day that you will be able to purchase the new collection from Stacey Yacula ~ Happy Trails and Once Upon A Time at a discounted price of over 30% off.  So if you have been pondering, maybe today is just the day to make the purchase!

Just to share with you another project that I've done using the new some of the stamps from the new collection ~ Happy Trails.

The sky's THE LIMIT

I coloured the Mountain background with some light wash of watercolours and blended the grassland with a distress ink.  As the hot air balloon is the main focus of the card, I chose brighter colours from my Copic markers to give it a more vibrant look.

Another project that I've done up just a few days back is a bookmark using Once Upon A Time collection.

a new chapter awaits

For this bookmark, I used just half of the stamped image from the Book template to create the background and I also blended it with a light touch of distress ink.  I know bookmark is supposed to be flat so that it fits nicely in between the pages of the book but I just can't help but want to give it a popped up effect and so I stick on a little foam dot just to make Mia stand out in the bookmark!

I hope you like the projects that I've shared today and if you would like to see more wonderful works with the new collections, just head over to here! Last reminder! ~ today will be the last day to grab both collections at a Puple Onion Designs with discounted price of a slight more than 30% off so don't wait too long :)

See you again real soon!

Stamps doesn't just have to be used on cards! It can be used on 3D projects, mini boxes etc etc... the possibilities are endless!

You Melt My Heart (once again!)

Happy Thursday!

Sorry for the missing~in~action for the past 1 month.  I have been really busy with my son's school re-open activities, rearranging all his tuition schedules and school's supplementary classes.  It was all topsy turvy!  And with the Lunar New Year celebrations just ended last week, I'm glad that we are back to the usual routine.

Sorry for all the babbling!  Now let's get right back to card making as this blog is what it's all about :)

Valentines' Day is just round the corner, in fact it's just 5 days away!  So today, I'm going to share with you a Valentines card that I've made a few days back.

Stamps used:  Johnny, May, Tree Line, sentiments from Ice Cream Parlor

All the above stamps can be found on Purple Onion Designs store.

If you notice, I've used the exact sentiment for last year's Valentines card as well!  I really like this sentiment as it is unique and sweet!

Johnny and May were coloured using Copic markers.  As for the Tree Line background images, I've used Zig clean color real brushes.  The card stock and the polariod frame was a gentle blend of distress inks.

I've added a little button bow that's made out of jute cord for just an extra fun to the soft pastel coloured card.  And also the little die cut heart for Johnny to hold onto.  What's a Valentines card without a red heart yah?  :D

I hope you like what I've shared with you today.  If you do need an extra dose of inspiration, please hop over to Purple Onion Designs for more inspiring Valentines projects!  I'm sure you will be greatly inspired!

Happy crafting!
