Party Like A Pirate

Ahoy Mate!

It's been quite some time since I made a box card and now that I'm putting up a blog post on my latest creation, I realized I've never enter a blog post on the box cards that I've made.

So I decided to share with you today a box card that I've just completed yesterday.  I managed to find the right props and took quite a number of pictures.  It's always a joy to take pictures of the box card because different angles of it will give me different views of and to get the right angle to feature the card in one picture can be a tricky task!

The box card was created using a box card cut file that I have in my Silhouette library.  Cutting the box is really a very easy and quick task with the Silhouette Cameo as all I need to do is get the right file, choose the right papers and a click of the mouse the Cameo does the job for me!

For the stamp set, I'm sure if you are a paper crafter you will be able to recognise immediately that this set of images are from My Favorite Things Party Like A Pirate stamp set!  I've always loved MFT stamp sets especially the ones by Birdie Brown!  They are just so cute and loads of fun to colour!

I stamped the images with Memento black tuxedo ink pad and I used my Brother ScanNcut cutting machine to have the images cut out.  Yes you heard me right, I've got the Brother ScanNcut too, as a birthday and mothers' day gift!

Like I said, it's hard to find a right angle to show the whole of the box card and so I took a couple of more pictures to show the different angles.

From this photo you can see there's a little wave that is right in front of the pirate ship.  That's a cut file I found in my Silhouette library and I thought it would be nice to just add it on to show that the boat is riding on the wave.. (well, kind of!)

And this picture shows you how the box card will look when it's being flatten to go into an envelope for easy mailing :)

Hope you  like the Party Like A Pirate box card that I've shared on my blog today.  There's been a few enquiries in the past from people and friends who are on my Instagram, asking if I would want to sell my box cards.  And recently I just realized I could have get the license for the box if I want to do so.  Well.. let's just see how things go, yeah? :)

Just one more day and the weekend is coming!  Stay calm and craft on!

XOXO from Blueberry

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  It's a little cloudy here in Singapore, with some light showers but I like it like this, it's a little cooler (:

Sharing with you today is a shaker Valentines' card I created using a die cut and an image from Purple Onion Designs.

Stamp used: Blueberry

Blueberry is one of my favourite stamps from Purple Onion Designs!  It's such a smiley bear!  I coloured it with my copic markers and gave it the extra touch of cute blush on its cheeks.

To create this card, I used some various sizes of heart shape dies to cut 3 heart shapes on my water colour paper.  I used my WRMK fuse tool to make shaker pockets and filled them up with sequins and glittery beads and stars.  Lastly, I just aligned the shaker pockets with my water colour paper (with the hearts window).

Before I attached the shaker pockets on the card, I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges to die cut the edge, blended some cracked pistachio distress colour on the base of the card to give the card a little more details.

The die cut of XOXO is a pattern found in the Silhouette Design Store and I've cut about 5 of them and stacked them up for a more 3D effect.  If you do not have a Silhouette Cameo machine, I'm sure you can find alternative similar die cuts to replace it!

I hope you like what I've shared with you today!  Oh ~ just a gentle reminder, there's still 4 days before the anniversary sales at Purple Onion Designs ends!  All stamps are 25% off!  Don't miss it if you have been wanting to buy any of the stamps!

Happy card making!
